Vlogmas Part Four

Posted on 29 December 2014

Can you believe we're almost at the end of vlogmas? It's only been four weeks, but I honestly feel like it's been going on for ages. I'm starting to get excited for the new year, but 2014 definetly isn't over yet! In this, part four of vlogmas, I take you along when we celebrate a traditional Norwegian Christmas. I warn you, there is a lot of eating in this video, but there's also a visit from Santa, tons of gifts being unwrapped and even some snow. As you can see, Eddie wasn't afraid of Santa or snow, but I'm thinking it's time to teach him about stranger danger very soon.

As I mention in the video, I will be doing a part five next Sunday. It just didn't feel right to end it after Christmas Eve, especially since we're not even done with gifts, which is a pretty big part of Christmas. We'll be doing another ceremony on New Year's Eve with my husbands family, and I feel that NYE is a part of Christmas anyway. I hope you agree with me and that you will tune in to the last chapter next Sunday.

I'm a little late (as is very typical of me), but I wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas. Or happy holidays. Or whatever suits your country/religion/lifestyle. I know some people have already taken down their decorations, but for me it's Christmas atleast until New Years Eve. I've been enjoying a somewhat relaxing break from work, and I hope that anyone reading is having a good time too. Christmas is about family for me, and that is exactly what we're going in our tour on southern Norway, just trying to visit all of Edwards grandparents.

But now that it's Sunday I'm sharing my last links of the year with my favorite reads from the past week. Just a little something for you to unwind. I'll be posting part four of vlogmas later today, so be sure to check that out as well.

December Favorites

Posted on 26 December 2014

Well then, we are in the final week of December all of a sudden! The month has flown by even faster than usual, and it seems like just yesterday I was decorating our home. You've probably seen by now that I did in fact film this video last week, before we left for our Christmas holiday. That may seem a little strange, calling this December favorites when I filmed it halfway through the month, but I decided it would be okay because I rarely add products that I've discovered in the end of the month anyway. I like to use something for more than a week before calling it a favorite. I hope that makes sense to you, and I hope I appreciate not having to watch a shotty video filmed in my moms guest bedroom. I assure you that even though this was filmed a little earilier than usual, the process is exactly the same.

It looks like my makeup favorites were definetly a bit NARS heavy, which is no shock since it's one of my favorite brands. My blush favorite this month has been Sex Machine that was released as a single in January, and was found in the Virtual Domination holiday palette this Christmas (still in stock at Sephora), and also from NARS I've been loving the Audacious lipsticks that I picked up a few months ago. They're so crazy creamy and they just glide on, and I will definetly be picking up more colours (mine are Raquel and Olivia). Honestly, it wouldn't be December without a mention from a holiday collection, and the Chanel Camelia de Plumes highlighter is the only thing I picked up this year. It is hands down the most beautiful makeup item I own, and it was hard to actually use it for the first time. This is definetly a collector piece, but I don't want to store it away forget it, because it's made to be used! If you come by this I would definetly pick it up, no matter what skincolour or tone you are, because this will look amazing on anyone. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to eyeshadow but I decided to give these MAC Pigment samples in Tan and Blonde's Gold (both permanent) a go, and I couldn't be happier with the result. I love using them wet and using both on my eyelids, with the darker shade on the outer half. To do that I've been using my new Sigma E50 Eye Shading brush, and just spraying it with a setting spray before dipping it into a tiny bit of pigment.

My one skincare favorite is the La Roche-Posay Physiological Soothing Toner that I just picked up. It really does make a big difference, and even though my favorite toner is The Tonic from La Mer, this is a good second for a fraction of the price. I also had to mention my The Body Shop Frosted Cranberry shower gel that was one of their holiday scents. Saying that I've been obsessed would be an understatement, as it smells too good for words! I'm very tempted to stock up on a few for future years, but I still have half left of this bottle, and that is definetly being saved for next Christmas. I also really like the formula of this, much more than their regular shower gels, so I may check out a few more of these. And last but not least, a little shoutout to a few of my favorite holiday nail polishes. I have a small collection of metallic and glittery red polishes, but these are the two that I've opted for this year, OPI's In My Santa Suit and Dear Santa.

Onto my lifestyle favorites, I only have a few this month, basically since I've been so busy with everything Christmas. In a way, I would easily say that Christmas has been a favorite, but I think that's stating the obvious. My one favorite candle this month has been Marshmallow Fireside from Bath & Body Works. To me this more of a winter scent than one just for Christmas, and I think it's one of their most popular signature candles. The name is pretty explanatory, and it does smell sweet, yet smokey. It's not one of their strongest scents (which is a good thing in my opinion), but it does have a very good throw. My one book favorite felt like a natural choice after last month, and it's Bossypants by Tina Fey. It's not the most well written book, but it's very clever, and of course extremly funny. Now onto my big favorite this month, the one that puts all the other ones to shame, the cartoon show Adventure Time. I'm a big kid at heart and I've fallein inlove with this show. It runs on Cartoon Network, and although I think older kids would like this, it's definetly a show made for adults. It stars brothers Jake the Dog and Finn the Human who go around the post-apocalyptic Earth (now called Land of Ooo) doing heroic stuff. It's funny, dark, cute and just generally brilliant. There are tons of supporting characters (most of them princesses) and my favorite is hands down Lumpy Space Princess (aka LSP) who is a hilarious bratty teenager. I highly recommend this to any of my nerdy and/or big kid readers out there, you will definetly love it.

Winter Beauty Haul

Posted on 24 December 2014

My Christmas gift to you is one last beauty haul. I hope you like it! I decided last minute before leaving that I wanted to film a haul and include all the beauty items I bought from the end of November up until now. I try not to do too much random shopping, but as you will see I may have gone a little overboard with all the cute things released for the holidays. I hope you enjoy this little piece of randomness on Christmas Eve, even if this is not a day for gift giving where you're from. It is here in Norway, and tonight we eat a lush dinner and open our gifts. Remember to check out vlogmas part four on Sunday and join our celebration.

But in the meantime, why don't you subscribe to my channel!

Vlogmas Part Three

Posted on 22 December 2014

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas... No wonder, with Christmas Eve right around the corner. Good thing you've got alot of time on your hands, because this is a long one. But if you like me chatting, you'll probably like this. Only two more editions of vlogmas to go now, and in all honesty the next one will probably be the best one. And maybe even the only one where I'm not sick. Warning: I sound like a damn fool in the beginning of this video.

Part four will be coming next Sunday, but I'll still have a few fun videos coming up before that. Make sure you subscribe to my channel, and you can do that HERE.

I managed to be a little late on my latest and greatest links in two ways this time. Last weekend I was sick, so I just decided to add my few links from last week into this post. Also, this should have totally been up while it was still Sunday in most parts of the world, but since so many of us are on our holidays already, I thought it wouldn't hurt to have some fun reads on a Monday off either.

Last Minute Holiday Gift Guide

Posted on 20 December 2014

Still haven't finished this years gift shopping? Me either. No matter how much planning is involved, there's always one gift missing in the last few days before Christmas Eve. And I usually start planning eight months in advance. I know, crazy. But anyway, here we are, and I have a few of my favorite gift options to share today. I know that for many it will be too late to order these exact items online, but this is more to give inspiration, which I hope you find. My strategy is usually to give gifts that the person would love but wouldn't treat themselves to. Because to me, gifts should be a treat. That doesn't mean it has to be a big or extravant thing, but go for something you think they'll actually like, not something you want them to like. If you're still missing a few stocking stuffers too, you can check out my last minute gift guide HERE.

  • PINK Sleep Shirt ($26.95) So a few months ago I called nightwear as the big gift to give this year, and I still think it's something you can't go wrong with. Be it a pair og pajamas, a lucious robe or a little shirt like this, chances are most people will like it. In my opinion Victoria's Secret can do no wrong when it comes to nightwear (especially when gifting to a teenager), but I've seen adorable pieces and sets all of the high street this year.
  • Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette (£56) This blush palette has been all the rage this autumn, and no wonder when you look at it. It's both gorgeous and practical
  • UGG Australia Scufette II Slippers (€80) These are on top of my wishlist this year. They look so cozy and snuggly, and most people like to keep their feet warm anyway. Another great thing about slippers is that you can find them more or less anywhere, and in every price range.
  • Tory Burch Logo Pearl Drop Earrings ($88) Most girls like earrings, and I've fallen for this pair from Tory Burch, one of my favorite contemporary American designers. They're classic, but they're so different that they're exciting.
  • Divergent Trilogy Boxed Set (approx £15/$22) In case you've missed it, Divergent is this years Twilight and Hunger Games. I loved the film, but let's not forget that it's actually a trilogy of books. If you know someone that loved the aforementioned series, they'll love this!
  • Marc Jacobs Bronzer Brush ($78) Have a beauty lover in your life that already has everything? Why not treat them to a really luxurious brush? This gorgeous brush is said to be amazing, and I know I'll be picking it up the next time I'm at Sephora.
  • Marc by Marc Jacobs Henry Glitz Chronograph Watch ($275) A watch is a popular extravagant gift, and a real treat to someone you love. Or for yourself. It's a great accessory, but it's also very practical. I chose this one for this gift guide, because I love the mix of modern and masculine, but it has a little bit of sparkle.
  • Kate Spade New York Coaster Set ($35) These beautiful, sparkly coasters would be a great gift for anyone that loves a little glitter in their life. If you want to make them into a bigger gift, add a bottle of champagne and even some glasses. These would also make an awesome housewarming gift if you ask me.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Face & Body Sculpt & Highlight Set (€227) This is for the makeup junke in your life. Since Charlotte Tilburys US launch this autumn the line has been all the rage, and the shade and higlight palette has been one of the star products. Not only is it gorgeous, but it's supposedly amazing as well. This set also comes with the brush to go with it, and a few other products to complete the look, all in a super cute makeup bag. I know I would be stoked to find this under the tree!

Christmas Home Decor Tour

Posted on

Now that our Christmas home is finally extra lush with a big tree, I thought I would share it in this little video. I'm easily on a roll with holiday themed videos this week (and you know I'm ending it with another vlogmas on Sunday too). This is just a little peek into my love of all things Christmas, and I hope you enjoy my ever-growing collection. As you will notice I'm not into a stylish or matching Christmas, I'm more of te person to just throw a bunch of glitter on everything. Alot of these things and customs are probably very specific to Norway and Scandinavia, so don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Last Minute Stocking Stuffers

Posted on 19 December 2014

We're only a few weeks away from Christmas, and although I wish I could say I was done shopping, I'm not. And I don't think I'm the only one. I had planned on doing gift guides in good time before Christmas, but obviously that didn't happend. Since 'better late than never' is my life motto, I thought I'd throw out a few for the last minute shoppers anyway. Hopefully this will give you some ideas for cute, and reasonable items to add to any stocking, being a partner, a child or even yourself. If you're stuffing more than one stocking, I would buy a few gift sets and divide the items between them, not only to save money but to let them try a little bit of everything.

  • Elizabeth and James Nirvana rollerball set ($20) The Nirvana perfumes have been one of the most popular perfume launches this year, and this little duo is such a cute way to try them, and in a size there's actually hope of using up before they go bad. From what I hear, these are great alone, but amazing when layered together.
  • Aromatherapy Associates The Star (£10) I recieved one of these Inner Strength bath and shower oils as a GWP a few months ago, and although I'm not really into aromatherapy, I can't get over how amazing this smells.
  • Drybar Lemon Drop Daily Detangler ($15) If someone has hair, I'm sure they'll love this pop of colour of a brush. And if they have long hair, a detangler will surely change their life.
  • PINK Water Bottle ($14.95) Because I'm pretty sure using a watter bottle makes you drink more water, which is really good for you. And this one is adorbs.
  • Marc Jacobs Enamored Nail Laquer in Midnight in Paris ($24) You can't go wrong with any nail polish from Marc Jacobs, but this limited edition colour in a pretty box is especially cool. I've heard so many good things about these polishes, and there's a colour (or three) for anyone.
  • I Heart Christmas by Lindsey Kelk ($11.41) Because why not buy someone a book on their Kindle? Just wrap up a picture of the book, and buy them the download after opening the gift. It doesn't get much easier than that. This is a cute book by one of my favorite authors, and with the holidays there's tons of time for reading.
  • Victoria's Secret Cosmetic Bag ($18) I'm one of those people that can never have too many makeup bags, and I bet you know someone like that too. VS always has a vast array of cute ones, and you can't go wrong with one for a beauty lover.
  • Peter Thomas Roth Mini Mask Magic Kit ($20) Little luxuries for the skincare lover, and a great way to try out a new brand. Doesn't even have to be this brand, you can find good gift sets almost anywhere.
  • Bath & Body Works Pocket Bac ($1.75 each) A little tube of anti-bacterial gel is cute and practical, and all Bath & Body Works lovers will love it. Why not add a cute holder too?
  • Starbucks Stainless Steel Cold Cup ($19.95) This is one for all the Starbucks addicts out there, and we all know one. Come to think of it, we probably know five!

On My Radar | Christmas Wishlist

Posted on 18 December 2014

Once again the year is almost at it's end and Christmas is upon us. Now you know that that means that I've sent my wishlist to Santa a long time ago, but I thought I would share it with you as well. You know I love making lists, and wishlists are the best! I love pinning beautiful items year round, and these are the ones that have made it to the top of the list this time. My wishlist is a bit more extravagant that unsual, but a girl can dream, right?

  • Louis Vuitton Alma PM, vernis leather in Blanc Corail ($2,350) It seems that this is forever on my wishlist. It's basically my dream handbag (not counting a Birkin, of course), but I'm having problems making this a priority for me. I adore it to death, but it's just not that practical. It's much easier to splurge when it's something that I can use all the time. But even if this doesn't go with large part of my wardrobe, I lust for it. It's just so tacky and awesome, it's basically screaming my name.
  • What the Lump! tank top (via Etsy) ($21.99) If you've watched my two first vlogmas videos this year, you've probably picked up that I've fallen inlove with Adventure Time, and Lumpy Space Princess is hands down my favorite character. She's so hilarious that I would proudly wear her on my own lumpy body.
  • Mason Pearson Popular hair brush ($205) I have a feeling that this is one of those holy grail items that makes me question my pre-owning it existance. I've heard nothing buy rave reviews, so of course I need it in my life. I have a feeling my hair would thank me.
  • Victoria's Secret Fashion Show cosmetics case ($21) Do I even need a reason? I mean, look at it! It's practical, sparkly AND it commemorates the first ever VS fashion show held in London, which is more or less my favorite place on earth.
  • Gucci Soho Disco Bag  (€730) A second handbag on one list? I know, I have no shame! I've been looking at this for a while, but just recently have I really wanted this. It's not the most exciting bag, but it's just so darn practical. This is something I could throw on whenever, and the size makes it perfect for running errands and such. I love that it comes in so many colours, but I'd probably end up with black, because, you know, it goes with everything.
  • Enchanted Tiki Room Salt & Pepper set ($19.95) I've become obsessed with the Disney parks as of late, and I can't get over this set of salt and pepper shakers inspired by the Disney World attraction. I'm a real souvenir freak, and although I don't like decorating my house like I would a scrapbook, these are so discreet I could totally get away with it.
  • Louis Vuitton cosmetic pouch in Monogram Multicolore Canvas (£260) Oh yes, I dare to wish for two LV items. I'm basically addicted to makeup bags, and this is one that would brighten my day every time I saw it in my bag. You either love or hate the multicolore canvas, and I love it. I was a tween when it first launched, and it's held a special place in my heart ever since.
  • Tory Burch Robinson Wallet on a Chain ($295) So technically this isn't a handbag. It's a wallet, really. See how I justified that? It's a gift. This has also been on my wishlist for ages, and it's almost been in my grasp several times this year. Close, but no cigar. This is so simple yet classic, and easy to wear. I will probably have this in a million colours in ten years, because I seem to love every single new colour they release (including the most gorgeous coral for spring!)

Bath & Body Works Holiday Haul

Posted on 16 December 2014

That's right, this totally happened. The scented candle and body wash gods can't keep me away from Bath & Body Works! I know, it's like the store is made for me. Anyone else feel the same way? I didn't want to go too crazy with this haul, since I already have too many candles already, and I admit I had a hard time picking which products to get. Choosing only two 3-wick candles was particularly hard, but it always is. I desperately wish they would open in Norway, or atleast in any nearby country I frequent, because I'm not in Poland that often. 'Tis The Season is topping my wishlist as of late, and if I'm very lucky my BFF Anna will pick it up for me!

With the big candles I settled on two autumn/winter classics that people seem to love, and ended up with Marshmallow Fireside and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. I already own Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin in the mason jar size, but loved it so much I wanted a bigger one to get a better throw in the living room. This smells just like you're baking gingerbread cookies, which I love. I think I'll pack this up after the holidays, and save the rest for next year, because I'm sure it's a scent I will get sick of if I burn it too much. Marshmallow Fireside is also a quite sweet scent, and I definetly get the scent they're going for. As for the packaging of this candle, it's my favorite one so far, as it's so simple and I think it will blend into any home. As for the mini candles, I basically just chose three that I wanted to smell. They all smell amazing, but I doubt I will pick up any of these in a bigger candle in the future, because I don't think they suit me and my home that well. I may end up with Champagne Toast at one point, but I'm just not sure when I would burn it.

I somehow managed to contain myself to only getting three, travel sized shower gels and I just jumped at the Holiday Traditions scents because the labels are just too darn cute! All of these are coming with me for our holiday travels, because let's be honest, I won't limit myself to just one. All of these are very traditional scents for BBW, and they don't really remind me of the holidays, but they smell awesome none the less. I can't help but wonder if they recycle fragrances in different packaging throughout the year, and nope no one notices. Not that I'm complaining, because that just means I can relive my favorite scents year round.

Vlogmas Part Two

Posted on 14 December 2014

Well, I may not have had the most exciting week, but at the very least I had some good, and some bad experiences. Some of you may already know that I've had the worst flu (ever!) this week, which obviously had an impact on both vlogging, and as you will probably have noticed from this sad looking blog, my blogging as well. As I'm writing it's been a week since the first symptoms appeared, and I can still feel that weakness from the sickness, but luckily I shook the fever a few days ago.

Anywho, this is my week of vlogmas part two. Eddie and I started off in my hometown Egersund, where we visited the big Christmas market, called Julebyen. I hadn't been in years and I was surprised at how good it hard turned out. Lots of food and other good stuff! I can easily recommend it to anyone visiting the west coast around this time of year.

Make sure to check back next Sunday for part three, and if you want to subsribe to my channel you can do that HERE.

This passing week was officially the first week of Christmas! Well, for me atleast. I know alot of people only see Christmas as the few days before and after Christmas Eve. Not me. I've had a lovely week, ending now in my dads livingroom in my old hometown. To end the week, here on the blog, I have a new batch of links for you. If you don't know, I started this segment to share my favorite posts from the blogging world from the passing week. I'm sharing the love!

Vlogmas Part One

Posted on 7 December 2014

I've been really excited about doing vlogmas for a long time now, but I do have to warn you that this is only for those that are especially interested! I was inspired by my favorite vlogger/blogger/all round amazing lady, Jen, to vlog. I'm still very new to vlogging though, so this poor guy is pretty darn long. I'll try to make part two a little more interesting, and a little shorter. I hope you enjoy my vlogging, because I really like it. If it's popular, I can try vlogging more often. Tune in next Sunday for part two, and be sure to subscribe and you'll be the first to know when it goes live.

November Favorites

Posted on 4 December 2014

I have to admit, it's hard to get into the grind, but my November favorites are finally here! I love that it's officially December, and no one kan kill my Christmas spirit now. But let's not forget November just yet, because I have a surprising amount of favorites to talk about. I usually keep a list of my favorites throughout the month, so I don't forget anything when end the comes around, but this time, as I was getting ready to film I kept thinking "oh, I can't not including this, I've been loving it so much!", and the pile grew larger and larger. As I mention in the intro, I'm trying out a new thing where I only talk about my beauty favorites in the video, and just write about my random favorites. I just felt that my videos were getting too long, and for me personally it takes way more for me to watch a video longer than ten minutes. So I thought I would give it a go, and see if you guys prefer it this way. Do not hestitate to let me know if you prefer the old way. But for now, let's just jump into my favorites.

For make-up (ish) I have five favorites. My first two are both lip products. The Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm is a lipbalm that I have neglected for a while now, but finally started using again. It's the easiest lip product ever, and it is currently living in my handbag for easy access throughout the day. The other one is the lipstick from Tom Ford in the colour Spanish Pink. When I picked this up in London a few months ago I knew I would like this, but I never imagined it would be such a perfect shade for my winter-pale skintone. I also had to mention the Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer, which is my all-time favorite contour product. It is fool proof, and looks so natural. I couldn't make the video without including two other products I picked up in London, that have also blown me away; the Rouge Louboutin nailpolish from Christian Louboutin (totally worth the bucks) and the most adorable little powder brush, the Ambient Powder Brush from Hourglass.

Moving into body, skincare and haircare favorites, I feel I have a wellrounded selection. For my face I've been adoring the amazing exfoliator from Lancer Skincare named The Method: Polish and the Shu Uemura Whiteefficient Clear Brightening Gentle Cleansing Oil. Shu Uemura are pretty well known for their cleansing oils, and their range is so vast that there is an oil for any skintype. I had to mention my Shiseido Facial Cottons (closeup below) as well, which may seem super random, but if you've ever tried them you'll know what I'm talking about. I'm so glad I splurged on them, because when I use my SKII Facial Treatment Essence I only need 3-4 drops of product for my entire face, while with my regular cotton pads I need double. I don't always mention body washes in my favorites (although I'm a total body wash fiend), but I've been so obsessed with this Victoria's Secret Sensual Blush body wash I had to give it a shoutout. Last but not least, the Pantene Pro-V Curl Defining Mousse deserved a mention since it has completly changed how I think about curling my hair, and the fact that they now stick around until I was them out.

I've had two candle favorites this month, and they're both from my recent Bath & Body Works Haul. I'm so glad I decided on these two, because they're both amazing. Leaves is the perfect fall scent, and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is a gorgeous holiday scent if you asked me. I just ordered a bigger size of the latter, and you'll be seing it in a BBW haul coming very soon! But in all honesty, I may order a big Leaves as well when the sale comes around, to save for next autumn.

I have three TV-favorites this month, and two of them include Gordon Ramsay. My husband and I have been on a total GR kick as of late, and we just think he's hilarious. That is one Brit that knows how to make good television! We especially loves it when he says "damn". First we finished season five of MasterChef US, and then we went through both seasons of Hotel Hell. I ended the month home alone binge watching Don't Trust The Bitch in Apartment 23 again. That show is so incredibly hilarious and original, I have no idea why it didn't survive. Krysten Ritter is such an amazing actress, I feel that she, along with James van der Beek totally carries the show. The Beek is cameoing himself in the show, and I've never liked him as much as I do in the show. All I can say is "Arrigato, haay!". A must for any sit-com lover.

To round off the month, I have one book favorite and one song favorite. A song you say? That may be pretty random, but I'm the type of person that gets kicks on songs, and listen to them over and over and over again. Good think I have headphones, because my husband is not the same. The song is Dangerous by Big Data, and I love it so much I haven't even bothered to check out any of their other songs! But it's super catchy, and I love a heavy base. And for the first time ever I actually have an audio book favorite. I adore Mindy Kaling, and when I saw that she narrated her book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) I knew just reading it wouldn't be satisfactory. The book is, as you would guess, hilarious! I actually joined Audible to hear it, and I just tried out their one month free trial. I have to say I'm not impressed with Audible, and I quit after finishing the book. $15 for one book per month? That's idiotic! It would be cheaper to just buy a book, or three. Once they turn it into an app closer to Spotify, where you can hear as many books as you want every month, I'll reconsider joining again. You'd think that letting people start as many books as they wanted every month would mean that more people stayed. Just saying.

So that is it for my favorites this time. I hope you like the new format, and that you will continue to watch the videos. If you want to subscribe to my channel, you can do that HERE, and get early access to all of my videos.

The Christmas Tag

Posted on 2 December 2014

A few weeks ago I came across a very cute post on Makeup Savvy, one of my favorite beauty blogs. The girl behind the blog, Fee, had done a Christmas tag, and I thought it was too precious not to do myself. I am a big Christmas freak, so I feel that I have to incorporate it into my blog, even though this is supposedly, a pure beauty blog.

As I'm sitting here in a candle lit living room, surrounded by everything red, glittery and down right christmasy, I'm really feeling the Christmas spirit coming over me. Honestly, I could drink a big cup of Starbucks Signature Hot Chocolate every single day if it wasn't loaded in calories.

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
Well, where do I even begin? For me, there's no such thing as one favorite. I have a boatload of movies I have to watch every December, and the list grows larger every year. I love all genres, and my favorite Christmas comedies are Deck the Halls and Christmas with the Cranks, my favorite drama is no less than The Holiday, but I also have to mention my favorite classic, It's A Wonderful Life, which we show at work every single year (this is the 19th year in a row!).

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
On Christmas Eve, which is the Norwegian tradition.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I honestly don't think I have any Christmas memories that I don't cherish. There have been so many wonderful ones throught the years, and I fondly remember all the Christmases spent at my grandmother when I was little and now recently the amazing memories I've made with my own little family.

4. Favourite festive food?
All of it? I'm easily a foodie, but not really that picky, and it shows. I have to admit I love orange chocolate, which only comes on sale in Norway Christmas and Easter, and also marzipan which is a big Christmas thing up here. But Christmas Eve dinner is of course the first thing that comes to mind. I don't even know how to translate it into English, because I'm sure that if you're not from the north, you will have never even heard of these things. But in one meal, we manage to eat salty lamb from the bone, crispy pork and I have to throw in a special Christmas sausage. Add potatoes, a mash of kohlrabi (a root veggie you've probably never heard of) and put tons of melted butter on top. That's what I'm planning to eat.

5. Favourite Christmas gift?
Three different ones come to mind, and they're all music related. It all started with a little casette stereo I got as a child. The second one was a discman I got money to buy in 1996, when I also got the CD Absolute Music 18. I used both to death, and I actually still have the CD. The last one was a big stereo I got in my early teens I believe. It had radio, a casette player and a 3-disc CD-player. It was gigantic and I adored it.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Christmas trees. It's obvious that nothing can compare to that smell. No fake trees in our house.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Since it is the big day for us, I have tons. I start off by getting up early and then we get our stockings just the three of us (a new tradition as of last year). I then get up and eat breakfast while I watch Tři oříšky pro Popelku (beautifully dubbed by one guy doing all the voices). After that we usually go grocery shopping and just relax before getting ready for the evening. This year I'll be making the gigantic dinner mentioned above, which we eat in the evening before having coffee and cake and opening gifts for the rest of the evening.

8. What tops your tree?
 A star!

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I really can't think of anything. My parents always got me amazing gifts, and I don't think I ever wanted a horse.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Just relaxing and spending time with family.

Completly unrelated photo from my Instagram
I've decided to add a new weekly feature to the blog, where I share the blogger love and link my favorite posts and videos from the past week. I started blogging because I loved reading blogs, and I still do. Since I can only write so many posts during the week, I thought this would be a great way to introduce you to the best the beauty blogging world has to offer from the previous week. Since this is my first post, not all links will be from this week, but they are all current.

Winter Home Decor Haul

Posted on 30 November 2014

My second video this week is another little haul. I've found some great bargains over the past few weeks, and I just had to share. All but one thing is from H&M Home and IKEA, so I would definetly claim it to be an affordable haul. I'm so happy that we finally have an H&M Home store on the west coast, and there is no doubt that I will be doing more shopping there in the future. Our apartment has been looking more or less like an IKEA catalogue, so hopefully that will change now.

Autumn Empties

Posted on 27 November 2014

I wish my long awaited new video could have been something super exciting, but alas, it's just a bag of trash. Litterally! If you want to watch mini-reviews of all the products that I have actually finished during these last few months, then this is the video for you. I love these type of videos, and hopefully you'll find this one interesting, and maybe even inspiring, as well. If you want to watch my first ever empties video, you can do that HERE, and the second one is HERE. I would love for you to subscribe to my channel as well, and you can do that HERE.

Update/I'm back!

Posted on

Hello everyone,

I'm so sorry for my lack up videos and updates lately. Even my Instagram has been dead these past few weeks. But know that I am still alive, and well. A few weeks ago I promised I would get back into blogging and filming, but that obviously didn't happend. I don't want to get too personal, but at the same time I feel that you deserve and explanation. I wouldn't want you to think that I just didn't like it anymore, or that I didn't care, because that's just not true. But the truth is, my depression has made a little comeback. It's been years since I last had to deal with it, but I always knew it would be something I would have to carry with me for the rest of my life. And suddenly, during these past months, I've had pretty bad days pop up here and there, and suddenly it was a bad weekend, and then two weekends in a month. Suddenly, I just had to face the facts and use the dreaded D-word again, and honestly just that has made me feel better. I'm so lucky as to know myself and my disease very well, and since it's so early I know that just forcing myself to stay busy and get excercise will be enough to help me. One good way of keeping busy? Blogging and filming of course! I doubt that I will truly be daily blogging right now, but I have tons of stuff in the making and to fill this blog. Starting later today, so keep your eyes peeled for a new video!

I hope you guys understand that sometimes you just have to put life on pause and take care of yourself. Doesn't mean I don't love you guys!

Love, Kaja

Is it obvious I'm trying to fill my blogging gaps with videos? I'm working on tons of new blog posts, and hopefully I'll have them up next week. Finally, I know. I'm the worst blogger ever. Bath & Body Works Haul!

Posted on 2 November 2014

It's such a joy for me to make Bath & Body Works haul for you guys! It's no secret that Bath & Body Works is one of my favorite things, ever! You'd think that store was made for me. Body washes? Candles? Tons of cute stuff? That really is right up my alley. In a way, it's almost a good thing they don't have any stores in Norway, because I would spend way too much time there. Today, I only have a small autumnal haul for you. I just picked up a few things this time, so shipping wouldn't be too extreme. I'm very happy with my little haul, and since filming I've tried everything but the hand soap. I was very pleasantly surprised by the fact that the mason jar candles, though small, have a great throw and manage to fill our living room. They also smell amazing, but quite different from their cold scent. The Leaves candle is perfect for autumn, and smells lika an apple/cinnamon mix. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is more of a holiday scent if you ask me, and it just smells like you're baking something delicious.

I would love for you to subsribe to my YouTube-channel, and be the first to know when I upload a new video, you can do that HERE.

October Favorites

Posted on 30 October 2014

Once again, the end of a month has rolled around. October has one more day in store, Halloween! Although it's been years since I actually went out on Halloween, I still love it, and make sure to do something fun every year. This year, it will probably just be a night of candy and a my favorite halloween movie, Hocus Pocus. If you need something to do, why not watch my October favorites, and maybe you'll get some inspiration or find some new products to try out. Because I'm totally an enabler. If you want to subsribe to my channel you can do that HERE, and I'd be very happy for it.

My Bicester Village Experience

Posted on 27 October 2014

I'm so excited that I finally get to share this video and blog post with you. As I mention in the video (even though I manage to use the wrong word, but hopefully you got the gist), I had origianlly wanted to vlog when I visited Bicester Village on October 2nd. I had planned everything out, and I wanted just to show you guys what it was like there, and give you an impression of what to expect for anyone going there in the future. Something like that is exactly what I would have wanted to see myself, because I am a crazy planning lady! But I did obviously forget to take my camera into consideration, which killed my vlog plans. So instead, I thought I'd make a chatty video, and just talk about what it was like. I did of course also want to show you what I picked up there, and I didn't think three things was enough for warrant it's own video. It ended up being a pretty long video though, but I just hope it will be helpful for anyone curous about the village.

If you've yet to watch the video, and haven't heard of Bicester Village before, it is a designer outlet village, located just outside of Oxford in the UK. If you're planning a visit, make sure you watch the video, and also visit the Bicester Village website. The day (or, half-day) we spent there was such a fun experience, and I have to say that it's much more luxurious there than I would have thought. It seems to be a very popular tourist destination, and there were especially many tourists there from South-East Asia and the Middle East. It seems to be the norm as well, because many of the SAs in the bigger stores could even speak Chinese, and I think Japanese as well, which I thought was just so cool. There are tons of guest sevices there to suit everyones needs, and there's even a little play area for kids there. There are several places to eat in different price ranges, but I would suggest brining a bottle of water and maybe some snacks, just so you don't have to spend ages in line for something so little.

I thought I would write a few lines about the stores that I visited, hoping that this will be helpful as well. I was very impressed with most of the stores, but a few were a bit dissapointing. I didn't visit every single store there, and I didn't really check prices most places, but here are a few thoughts:

  • Anya Hindmarch This store was quite small, but it was cozy and not crowded. They had a good selection of older season items, from bags, to wallets and make-up bags. They also had a good selection of Marano clutches from different seasons. No new season items.
  • Dior Looked like a typical Dior boutique, nice and white. I went in here several times to browse, but no one ever offered to help me even though it wasn't very crowded. I can't remember seing any bags, but they had scarves, shoes, childrens wear and a small selection of accessories and small leather goods (that I believe are very old, but at good discounts). I don't think I saw a single handbag, and no tribal earrings in sight either.
  • Dolce & Gabbana One of the bigger boutiques, and although I didn't venture all the way to the back, they had a good selection of sunglasses, and also small leather goods and shoes. I think they had clothes as well, but I didn't look at them. Not as crowded as Gucci and Prada.
  • Furla A quite small and quiet store, but bright and clean. They had tons of bags, and even more wallets.
  • Gucci Another big store, and very crowded. It was almost impossible to get help here, and I gave up waiting to help to look at a cute makeup pouch. They did have a very good selection of leather goods, many different handbags, womens wear and even shoes.
  • Jimmy Choo This was the biggest dissapointment for me. I went in to see if they had older colours of a pair of sandals I've wanted for a long time, and they did, but they were in terrible shape, and with a tiny discount. The front section was very clean and they had a ton of shoes and even some handbags, but in the back, where you would think you could find some good deals, and also where the older seasons were, it was just a big mess. Dirty, obviously rewened shows for £50 off? No thank you!
  • Kate Spade A typical Kate Spade store, with a very good selection. Tons of bags, wallets and phone cases, a good selection of jewellery and I believe they had some shoes as well. No stationery unfortunately. This was one of the few places I interacted with the staff, and they were all very friendly and helpful.
  • Juicy Couture Not the most impressive store, but they had crazy amounts of track suits if you're looking for a set (or five), and I think I remembered thinking that the discounts were pretty good. They had regular clothes as well, but the jewellery was almost non-existant.
  • Marc Jacobs/Marc by Marc Jacobs Here you could find some of the classic style MBMJ bags, and the seasonal colours in particular had descent discounts. They had some accessories as well, and I think clothes too, althought it's getting a bit blurry since that was the first store I went into. Don't remember actually seing anything from the Marc Jacobs part of the brand though.
  • Molton Brown I think they had more or less a full selection. Tons of soaps and lotions, and gift sets too. They didn't have the bigger sizes that you find in their regular boutiques though. Know that some products are in old packaging and may have other names. They actually had a rule that you had to buy atleast two items, which I thought was a bit wierd. Prices were good though, and I think it was £15 for one body wash and the discounts grew the more your bought.
  • Prada Probably the biggest store, and quite overwhelming. Extremly crowded, but the staff was very helpful. They had some handbags, but not a big selection and I don't think I saw any classics. The selection of small leather goods was okay, but only in select styles and old seasonal colours. They had some sunglasses as well, and I think you can find some other accessories as well. The shoe department was pretty good, and they had a ton of clothes. A ton! The upper floor is menswear only, everything from small leather goods to clothing, but without the crazy amounts of people.
  • Saint Laurent Clean open store. Think I saw a few handbags, but I didn't spend too much time there. They had a few pairs of Tribute sandals and Tribtoo pumps, but in seasonal colours only.
  • Tory Burch Not a very big store, but pretty crowded. They had bags, clothes, shoes, accessories, more or less anything you could expect from a Tory Burch clothes. No new or classic pieces though.
  • UGG Australia A nice and open store, that wasn't crowded. They had both the typical UGG shearling boots, and regular shoes, both for women, children and babies. They even had the boots in classic colours, and I'm pretty sure they were discounted (although not alot). I really regret not picking up a pair of slippers here, a steal at £60!
I only picked up three little items, but I'm very pleased with my haul! It's been almost four weeks since our visit, and I'm still extatic about my Anya Hindmarch clutch! I didn't really think of the fact that I happened to only get gold things, but that just goes to show how much I've fallen inlove with gold, after avoiding gold for almost all my life.

All in all I'm so pleased with my first visit to Bicester Village, and I highly recomend it for fashion and designer lovers out there. I will be going back, without a doubt, and I'll make sure to save some more before our next visit. If you're going from London I would take a day, because you will be browsing for a long time. I hope you found some help in this post and video, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I'm not some Bicester guru, I have only been there once, but I will do my best.

Before I leave you, I just want to sum up my top three tips for anyone going there:

Be patient, have an open mind, and make a budget!

29 Hours in London

Posted on 22 October 2014

Hello everyone,

Long time no see? It's been a while since I blogged. I actually posted this video on Monday, but I am just now getting around to posting it here. Since coming home from our holiday, I haven't really been feeling like myself, and I've been lacking in energy as well. I don't want to get too personal on this blog, but just know that more posts are coming! I have so many posts and videos planned, and I can't wait to get back into the grind. I do love blogging, which is why I do it, but sometimes you just have to take care of yourself and just focus on getting better. I really hope you understand.

But regarding this video, it is my (somewhat) long awaited London vlog. As I state in the intro, this really isn't a vlog I'm very proud of, but I wanted to post it so that you can decide for yourself if you want to see it. I really love London, and I wish I could have shown you more from my days there. If you've followed me for a long time, you know that I travel to London quite often, atleast once a year on average, so there will probably me one, or more, London vlogs in the future, as well as vlogs from other travels, because we are going some exciting places next year! If you haven't already seen my haul from the trip, you can view it HERE. I also have a playlist featuring all my vlogs.

London Beauty Haul

Posted on 11 October 2014

I'm so glad to finally show you the beautiful things that I picked up in London last weekend. I got to cross several things of my eternal wishlist, which I'm very happy about. I think this may have been my best haul ever, and I'm just so excited to try out every single thing. I have tried a few since filming, and you will definetly be hearing more about a few of these in my October favorites. As always, if you want a review of a certain product, just let me know and I will do my best. And regarding the vlog, just leave me a comment here if you want to see it. If you want to subscribe to my YouTube channel, you can do that HERE.

ON MY RADAR | NEW IN BEAUTY

Posted on 10 October 2014

I'm back with another installment of On My Radar, and today I feature products that are more or less brand new. I always try and keep up to date on new releases, and being a total makeup junkie I always find a bunch of new things that I want to try out.

  • Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks (£23) I love me a matte lip, and these new lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury has me all excited. I believe there are ten shades that just launched, and they all look so gorgeous, and of course very matte. I've even heard people say that these are the best matte lipsticks ever. I've yet to actually try anything from Charlotte Tilbury (allthough I'm dying to), but the wishlist just got a little bit longer with these.
  • Gucci Makeup Possibly the biggest makeup launch this year is of course Gucci. I'm a big fan of Gucci and Italian designers in general, because I just love that hint of tacky. The packaging is just a bit over the top, which I think Gucci lovers will appreciate. I know I do. I basically want to try everything, but the single eyeshadows really stand out for me. I also want to try the lipsticks, blushes and bronzers. And maybe the polishes while we're at it. Sadly, I hear that the lipglosses are shit. Right now it's available Saks, Neiman Marcus and gucci.com in the US, but if you're in the UK you have to get it from gucci.com. Still waiting on the UK department stores, and hopefully shipping to Norway!
  • Burberry Runway Nail Collection (£90) I originally went searching for the super limited edition spring/summer 2015 nail polish sets when I was working on this post, but it seems that they are already sold out (they will go on sale as singles in the spring though). But I did come across this faull/winter 2014 set which was just as beautiful, if not more. It comes in a beautiful box with six shades worn in the Burberry Prorsum FW14 fashion show. So this obviously isn't a super new launch, but who cares, it's perfect for autumn!
  • Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss ($34) Whenever Chanel brings out a new product, I am in there like swimwear. These glosses are so new that they've barely even popped up online yet, but they did launch in stores last week. Not sure if that is worldwide, but atleast in the UK, and I believe rest of Europe as well. These are supposedly quite opaque, but still glossy.
  • Giorgio Armani Eye & Brow Maestro (£26.50) Looking at the name, you may think that this is just another eyeshadow or eyebrow gel product, but according to Giorgio Armani, this is a serious multi-use product. They claim that it can be used for lining, eyeshadow, contouring, even root touch-ups, and of course eyebrows. But the really exciting part for me, is the fact that they included a red shade. And it's making me want to try red eyebrows. Gingers usually just go for brown or taupe brows, but I would love to try it, just to see what it would look like with brows that match my hair, which is the norm for everyone else.
  • Dior DiorSkin Star Foundation & Concealer (£32 & £22) I wasn't too excited when these first launched in September. I like Dior foundations, but nothing about this seemed too special. I guess I was wrong, because everyone has been raving about this. It seems like it may be the best foundation launch this year, so of course now I want to get it. I like that there's a matching concealer to go with it, but I wish the colour selection was a bit better, since there are just five concealer shades.Luckily the foundation comes in 16 shades, and even the very pale will find a shade here.

September Favorites

Posted on 7 October 2014

I'm back from my little holiday in the UK, which means I can finally present you with my favorites from September. A little bit late, but I didn't want to skip it either. Not alot of beauty favorites this month, but with all the shopping I've been doing lately, I know next months favorites will be a big one. I really hope some of you enjoy my random/lifestyle favorites as well, because they're an extra big part of this video. At the very least, I do enjoy sharing them!

Going Away

Posted on 28 September 2014

After a crazy hectic week at work it's finally time for me to head to England for a little family holiday. I want to focus on spending time with my husbands family and relaxing, so I won't be posting blog posts or videos next week. I trust that you will understand, and I hope you're excited for all the fun posts and videos that will come when I return. We're ending our trip in London, and spending the last night there. I have a ton of shopping to do while I'm there, and I hope you want to see a vlog! We are also planning on Bicester Village, a designer outlet village outside of Oxford, which I'm super excited about.

I really wanted to go out with a bang and leave you with a bunch of good posts from this week, but typical me, I got sick. It's nothing dangerous, but I'm not feeling amazing and walking and using my hands is painful. It's a good thing I'll have some time to heal on my holiday.

You won't have to miss me too much though, because I will definetly be more active on Instagram while I'm gone, so make sure you are following me. Other than that, I'll be back with new posts and videos on October 6th!

Space.NK Haul

Posted on 27 September 2014

After six long business days, my little haul from Space.NK finally came in the mail. You may remember that Space.NK recently had their annual fall beauty edit events both in the US and in the UK, and this is what I ordered from the UK site last week to get the gigantic goodie bag. I'm so happy with everything and I can't wait to try them. Hopefully many of these will show up in future favorites videos! Let me know if there's anything spesific you want to hear more about, and do tell me if you made a purchase as well.

What's in my travel makeup bag?

Posted on 23 September 2014

It's no big secret that I'm travelling with my family to the UK this week. By now I'm guessing everyone knows since I can't stop mentioning it! I'll be away for almost a week and need quite an assortment of products. I'll be going to a party while I'm there, I'll of course need my everyday makeup, and I also need to do a more polished everyday look, for going shopping in London. Anyone else out there that likes to dress up before going to nice boutiques? I'd die if I had to go to Harrods or Chanel without looking great. It's a bit silly, but I can't help it. Anyway, my makeup bag is filled, and I even had to leave behind a few products I would love to bring. Of course I would love a better selection of blushes (I'll miss my Dolce & Gabanna Provocative), and I'll probably miss my MAC Fix+, but I'm bringing my La Mer The Mist, and that should do the trick. I'm also skipping on fake lashes, since they take up so much space, and I probably wouldn't wear them anyway since it's a 90th birthday party we're going to.

If you want to watch my last makeup bag video, from December 2013, and also see which brushes I'll bring this time as well, you can do that HERE.
