Sephora Haul

Posted on 25 August 2015

Yes, I'm still alive! I'm so sorry for my long absence, it wasn't planned. I actually filmed this video almost two weeks ago, and I finally got around to editing it. Alot of stuff has been going on as of late, and I can't wait to tell you about it very soon!

But isn't a Sephora haul a pretty good comeback? My very sweet dad picked up these things for me at The Mall at Green Hills in Nashville, TN. I also added two face makeup items that I picked up at home, but you can get them at Sephora, so I thought why not just talk about them here.

I hope you enjoy this video, and if you want to subscribe to my channel you can do that HERE.

ColourPop Haul

Posted on 2 August 2015

Yet another haul has hit my channel. This time it's exclusively a ColourPop haul, a brand I had never tried before. I was really excited about trying some of their products since I've been hearing both gurus and friends rave about them for a long time now. And what makes them even more interesting is that they're a pretty cheap range, with products ranging from $5-$8.You guys know I'm not huge on beauty from that price range, because I feel that you usually get what you pay for, but I was just too curious! Watch the video to check out what I got and hear my first impressions on all my new goodies.

2015 Makeup Collection & Storage

Posted on 26 July 2015

It's finally here! Before we left for our summer holiday I managed to get my vanity in order and film my updated makeup collection for you. I doubt I'll keep it like this forever, because there are a few bits I'm not super happy with, but for the foreseeable future this is what I'm working with. It's basically an IKEA overload, like the rest of our home! Which I don't love, but we don't have Pottery Barn, so it is what it is.

So let's go through the stats. My vanity is actually a desk from our old home, the short version of Bestå Burs. The little stool is Ingolf, you all know the Alex drawers and my mirrors are Skogsvåg and Trensum. I got the acrylic display for my nailpolishes off eBay, I got mine from this seller but you can just search 'acrylic nailpolish display' and you'll find loads in all different sizes. Other than that, most things are from Muji.

Luxury Accessories Haul

Posted on 20 July 2015

You know me, I love a little haul, and this is a really special one. Over the past few months I've picked up three little designer goodies that make me very excited, and I felt that they deserved their own video. If I can, I will probably do more fashion/designer type of videos, because these are things that I love. Those type of videos do get a lot of hate though (haters gonna hate), but I don't care, I do this for the people that love it as much as I do!

But enough rambling, why don't you watch the video? And then you should totally subscribe to my channel as well. I'm so close to hitting 400 subscribers, which is pretty darn awesome!

June Favourites 2015

Posted on 11 July 2015

Time for favourites! I had a bunch of favourites in June, so this is a bit of a long one. I don't think I've ever had so many different things to share in one month before, but I've just been so excited about so many things. Why don't you just dig in without having to read too much of my crap beforehand. As always, I hope you like it!

Updated what's in my travel makeup bag

Posted on 5 July 2015

Two weeks ago I went on a little trip to Oslo, the capitol of Norway, for a bachelorette party. I realised it had been so long since I last filmed a what's in my makeup bag video, I thought, why not film a new one? The last one I filmed in September, and nine months is basically a lifetime in the YouTube world. As you will soon see I brought alot with me, because we had some many different things on the agenda, from just shopping to going out in the evening. I just managed to fit everything in my Charlotte Tilbury canvas makeup bag that I hauled from Net-a-Porter a few weeks ago.

Check out the video, and make sure you've subscribed to my channel as well!

Q&A | The Answers

Posted on 4 July 2015

We are getting more and more settled in at home, and earlier this week I finally had time and space to film a few videos. It's not exactly gorgeous yet, but as I'm writing this it's already better, as you'll see in next weeks videos.

But in this video, I FINALLY sit down to answers all of your questions. I was having a bit of doubt about even filming this, since there weren't that many questions, but here it is. I feel incredibly guilty about taking forever to finally film it though, and I hope you guys know that it was not my intention. Please don't hate me! I do explain a bit of what's been going on at home in the video, it's not like I've just been lazy.

If you want to subscribe you can do that HERE.

MAC Haul!

Posted on 25 June 2015

To say that life has been chaotic over the past few weeks would be and understatement, but after a week in our new home I finally found some time to edit this MAC haul that I filmed just before we moved out of our last apartment. There's been so much going on lately it's absolutely crazy, BUT  I've finally gotten round to filming the answers for my Q&A that I talked about in early May. Hopefully that will be up later today, tomorrow at the very least. I'm actually getting ready to visit my mom because I lost my grandfather earlier this week.

I hope you enjoy my MAC craziness, and I hope you're ready for tons more videos coming up over the past few weeks, I'm just bursting with fresh ideas!

Make sure you are subscribed to my channel, and you'll always be the first to know when I post a new video.

An overview of my collection before the move

Posted on 11 June 2015

Time flies so fast, and suddenly it's less than a week until we finally move! I've been packing for weeks already, and before I pack up the rest of my make-up collection, I thought I would give you a little overview, since you guys have been so patient in the wait of my updated collection video. I promise that I will film it as soon as I have everything set up in my new apartment, and this time I don't have to wait for this or that to arrive in the post.

So as you may guess from the first photo, my old setup is pretty darn cramped. Our old apartment is filled to the brim, and this didn't make it any better. It's in our bedroom, and on the left you see a Hemnes dresser, and on the right an Alex unit, both from IKEA. The Alex is faced so that the drawers open underneath the table, because that was the only way it would work. Back when I filmed my first collection video in 2013 this is where I kept almost my entire collection. The tabletop itself we got from a building supply store, and cut it to our liking, before adding on two legs (also IKEA). It was ugly, and super cheap, but it worked. The lamp is so old I don't even know where it from (but probably IKEA, of course), and the mirror is, you guessed it, from IKEA. I didn't feel like haning a bigger mirror since we were hoping on moving, which was obviously a good decision.

On the right side I have my two sets of Muji drawers. These are quite expensive, but easily worth it.  I have one with five drawers and one with two. The drawers are arranged by type of product, I do love order! On top I have an array of products that don't fit inside, things I want to keep handy and an old glass full of anything in pencil form, plus mascaras. On the right side I have a small towel, which I lay down before doing my makeup for two reasons, because the table doesn't get too dirty and you'll also have something to wipe things on. On the other side I have my main MAC-palette, which contains all of my most used shadows from MAC.

On the other side of the table I keep my make-up brushes (I'm right handed). I keep them in small drinking glasses, categorized by cream products, face powder brushes and then eye brushes. I also have my brand new acrylic nailpolish display which I ordered off eBay. It has six shelves and is suppost to fit about 48 polishes. It looks super sad in this photo because it came just a few days after I packed most of my polishes, but I promise you will see it in all it's glory in the upcoming video.

And there you have it. It's not very impressive, and I never loved it, I just ended up with this solution because I was absolutely desperate for a place to sit down and do my makeup in peace and quiet, instead of having to do it in a bathroom. This was seriously all I could fit. So if you're in a tight spot (literally), consider just DIY-ing your own vanity instead of buying one.

Net-a-Porter Luxury Beauty Haul

Posted on 10 June 2015

It's time for another haul! I feel like I just did a haul video, but I guess it's actually been over a month. Today I have my first ever Net-a-Porter beauty haul, with makeup and skincare from Charlotte Tilbury, SK-II, Lancer and Hourglass. I absolutely love NAPs beauty department, and I'm so glad I finally placed an order. They even had free express shipping at that time, which was great. I've given my first impressions of the products in the video, but you will probably be hearing more of them in the near future as well. I have to admit I have been on a bit of a cheeky shopping bender as of late, and there may or may not be a haul coming your way next week as well!

Get Ready With Me | Simple Everyday Look/My Current Look

Posted on 7 June 2015

'Get ready with me' videos seem to be growing on me. I'm not a very big fan of doing tutorials, but after watching tons of GRWMs over the past months I felt inspired to make one myself. Plus, it's been almost six months since my last one! I've really been loving this look, it looks polished without taking forever, and it's not a million products either. As you may notice I did change my outfit before heading out, but never really caught it on camera. When I stepped out it finally felt like summer (for the first time this year), and I had to run in and change. I absolutely love this green jacket from Zara, that I finally got to wear. It's simply, but such a fun pop of colour, and it really made me stand out against the typical black Norwegian uniform. Which I love!

For anyone wondering, yes I did speed up the video quite a bit. Watching it in realtime would be incredibly boring, and I felt it was unnecessary. Hair and make-up took 10 minutes each, which I definetly consider quick and fit for an everyday routine.

I hope you enjoyed the video, and if you want to subscribe to my YouTube channel you can do that HERE.

May Faves

Posted on 30 May 2015

We're at the end of another month, and I'm back with my May favourites. I went a bit quiet there for a while, but I was too sick for anything last week. But I still have a few items to show you, some make-up I've been wearing alot, my latest nail obsession and the shampoo and conditioner duo that's been my favourite for a long while now, it's just never come up before.

I don't know how much I'll be able to post in June, because of the move, so if it gets too boring just know that I'll be back when we get settled in and I have more time to film. And hopefully in a better setting!

As always, I would love if it you wanted to subscribe to my channel, and you can do that HERE.

Moving House!

Posted on 21 May 2015

Big news my friends, we're moving! We've been wanting a bigger apartment for a long time, but over the years it just ended up being the smart choice staying here. But all of a sudden, a few weeks ago I came across a perfect apartment. We went to see it the next day, and the owner chose us over tons of other people that wanted it! It's much bigger (finally room for all of us!), it's newer and nicer and it's in a better neighbourhood closer to where my husband works and Eddie goes to kindergarten.

Moving is less than four weeks ahead! I'm mostly excited right now, but I'm sure I'll be super stressed with packing any day now. I actually started packing the first two boxes today, and then I got a little bit anxious when I realized how little actually goes into those boxes, and we'll probably need about 50.

So you probably won't be hearing that much from me in the middle of June, but once it's good and done I'll have so many things to show you! I may do a room tour or two once those rooms are done. Just wait and see!

Our moving does include some semi-sad news though, because I've decided to postpone my updated make-up collection video until we're there. I was waiting and waiting on the last item I needed to film (it's still not here though, I obvi chose a bad seller on eBay), and suddenly we got our new place, and it just didn't seem right to film it here for two reasons. One, because it's just temporary, and I would rather show you how I want it to be when we're there and it's perfect, and two, because I'm not super happy with my current setup anyway. I hope you agree it's the right decision. As a peace offering I might post a few photos of my current setup here on the blog, just so the wait won't feel as eternal.

It's all very exciting!

Spring Empties | What Would I Repurchase?

Posted on 18 May 2015

It's time to take out the trash, but before I recycle I show it all to you! This is what I've finished over the past few months, so I thought we'd call them spring empties even though there's still a few weeks left of May. It's not like I could have fit more products into that bag even if I wanted to. I definetly need to get a bigger bag! And in the future I probably won't include as many of the products that I always go through, just to try and make these videos a little bit shorter.

And of course I want to apologize again for the fact that my winter empties never made it onto the internet. Total rookie mistake on my part (what actually happened was hat I saved the wrong files onto my computer).

I hope you enjoy this video, and if you want to subscribe to my channel you can do that HERE. And make sure you tweet me your questions if you want me to do a Q&A video, because I've gotten very few so far.

Laura Mercier Silk Crème Oil Free Photo Edition Foundation Review + Demo

Posted on 10 May 2015

The first video offering of May is a requested review of my new favourite foundation, Silk Crème from Laura Mercier. It was repackaged after I bought it, and it's new name is Silk Crème Oil Free Photo Edition foundation ($48/£35).They claim it is the exact same formula though, which is why I decided to go through with the review. You've probably seen me mention it before, because I've been loving it and using it so much, but for an in-depth review and a demo, make sure you check out this video.

And as always, if there are any other products you would like me to review, let me know!

Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel as well, and you can do that HERE.

Q&A?

Posted on 6 May 2015

Hi guys. I was thinking of doing a Q&A video next week if I get enough questions. If you have any questions you would like me to answer, leave them in a comment down below, or tweet them to me @kajahytland, and use #AskKaja.

April Favourites

Posted on 29 April 2015

We're almost ready to enter May, but first, April favourites! Lots of MAC and other new items, throw in a pair of new sneakers and my favourite reality TV-show.

Now I'm just hoping May brings some warm weather, because I am ready to pack up my UGGs and down jacket!

But while I'm waiting for a little more sunshine, I hope you enjoy this video, and let me know what your favourites were this month. If you want to subscribe to my channel, you can do that HERE.

Huge Spring Haul!

Posted on 26 April 2015

Another month, another haul, amirite? Ehm, something like that. I've got some new things here and there over the past month or so, so I thought it would be fun to do another haul video. I've been running out of half my essentials, so I thought I would start the video off by showing you repurchases of my holy grails and favourites.

I've also picked up some spring clothing and shoes, plus a few things from Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret, and I thought it would be perfect to combine it all and make it into a huge spring haul.

Now I'm all ready for all spring has to offer, but knowing the Norwegian west coast I know it will be cold, and mostly rainy, so I don't know why I think big hair and short sleeves are a good idea. I guess that's just the Norwegian spirit, no matter what, we're always hoping for warmer weather.

Products I Regret Buying

Posted on 15 April 2015

This is a video I've waited so long to do, and I'm glad to finally have it out of the way. The products you are about to see in this video have been piling up for almost two years now, just waiting for me to tell you about them. They range from 'just not right for me', to down right terrible. Make sure you check out the video and hear why. I'm thinking of making this into a yearly video from now on, so you can probably expect a 2015-regrets video come wintertime.

In the meantime, make sure you're subscribed to my YouTube channel!

A little update

Posted on 6 April 2015

I had big plans for this blog this year. And suddenly that kind of went ot the window. It's been over a month since I last posted a real blogpost. It's not something I planned, it kind of just happened. I wanted to become a great and reliable blogger, that posted all the time, but it became obvious to me that there was no chance of that happening, atleast not for now. All of a sudden I felt so much pressure, from myself, to produce and be great, and it was just too much for me and I kind of freaked out. Since my biggest passion is making videos, that became my priority. Not to mention that I have alot to work on in my personal life, and at the same time I manage a home, albeit a small one.

So that's a long story short as to what's been going on. I think it's obvious that something needs to change, and that my wish to post five times a week is a dream. Or a nightmare. That being said I am in no way quitting blogging! It's something I love doing, and I couldn't imagine not having a blog alongside my channel.

So what's going to happend from now on is that I'll basically blog when I feel like I have something to write about. I won't push myself to go crazy, and I won't keep a schedule, atleast not for now. Blogging is just a hobby for me and I have a job and a life as well, so I need blogging to keep being a fun thing, and not stressful.

I hope you can understand where I'm coming from, and I'm very grateful that you guys are so patient with me. I hope you will continue to stop by and check out future posts. If you don't want to drop by on a regular basis I highly recommend you follow this blog on BlogLovin' so you'll always know when I post something new.

Don't hesitate to let me know if there are any blog posts or videos you would like me to make! I always aim to give you guys something you want to see, and even though I do this because I love it, the content I make is for you.

Recent Videos

Posted on 3 April 2015

It's been quite a while since I updated this blog, and even though I've been silent here I've been posting new videos on my YouTube channel. I've kind of lost touch with blogging, and I'll be posting a little update and talking about what will happend from now on (don't worry, I'm not planning on quitting blogging!). As for today, I thought I would wish you all a happy easter (or passover for that matter) and share my five latest videos that haven't made it to the blog yet.

Treat Yo Self 2015

Posted on 8 March 2015

It's been another hectic mommy & Eddie weekend, and I'm a bit late on sharing this video here on the blog. I posted this on Friday, and I do post videos every Tuesday and Friday.

Anyway, last weekend my husband and I had a full date-day in Oslo, and I obviously did a bit of shopping. I had been a very good girl in February up until that day and I had been saving my money for that day. Although I live in the second biggest city in Norway, it is much smaller than Oslo and they have so many stores and we don't have. I got to cross a few items of my wishlist on this trip, and I also found some beautiful things I didn't even know I wanted. I am extremly happy with my haul, and I'm also glad to report that I did stick to my budget and it feels good. All in all it was a great day as well, and it was lovely to just be the two of us, which is a rare treat.

So far I'm also happy with the whole 'treat yo self'-idea. I've only been doing it for a few months now so it's a bit hard to tell if it's something I'll be able to stick to, but if you want an update later I'll do that. I was just sick of shopping so much that I didn't appreciate everything I got. I already have a pretty big makeup collection, and let's be honest there's no need to fill it up with things I don't use. I also believe it will save me money in the long run, because all that little shopping adds up surprisingly quick. I also think it's easier to save money when I have something to look forward to. I'll probably do this twice a year, because I don't think it's realistic for me to only shop, and treat myself, once a year.

As you may very well know I'm trying to lose weight, and I think it's a good idea to incorporate 'treat yo self' into that as well. I know I'm quick to think "just this one time" when it comes to sweets, and that needs to stop, and I think it will be easier to for example skip cinema candy and desert at restaurants when I can always do it on treat yo self-day in the future.

That was a bit rambly, so if you guys want an explanation/update video I would love to do that. As always, I would love it if you subscribed to my channel and you'll always be the first to know when I post a new video. I also want to hear it if you guys have any other video requests.

February Favorites

Posted on 4 March 2015

I haven't gotten off on the best foot in the world of favorites this year. Not that the 4th can really be considered being well into a month, but I do like having my favorites up at the end of the month but it just didn't work out that way this time because we went away for the weekend. But for the first time in a long time I'm ahead of my filming schedule, and it feels great! That means new videos every Tuesday and Friday, so be sure to check in on YouTube on those days.

But getting back to favorites. Not alot of beauty favorites this month either, but I did discover (and rediscover) a few things I'm feeling very passionate about. Leave it upto a beauty blogger to feel actual passion about products! I hope you enjoy my favorites videos because they're one of my favorites to film. However, if you want to see something else don't hesistate to tell me your requests.

As always, I would love it if you would subscribe to my channel. I made it a goal to reach 1000 subscribers this year and there's still a long way to go!

Current Morning Skincare Routine

Posted on 23 February 2015

This weekends video is a little bit late (I always try to post on Fridays), but better late than never! It's been quite a hectic weekend being home alone with Edward, and of course I always put him before the blog. But anyway, this is my current skincare routine in the morning. I've been enjoying so many of the products in my routine as of late, so I thought it was time to finally film this. It's a bit of a mish-mash brand wise, but that's just how I roll, I can't contain myself to one or two brands. It seems though, that whatever I'm using at the moment, there's always a little bit (or alot) of La Mer in there. I won't go on right now, and I'll let the video speak for itself. Literally.

If you want to subscribe to my channel, you can do that HERE.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres 236 Tissé Fantasie

Posted on 22 February 2015

For spring Chanel released two Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quads and I picked up one of them, in the colours Tissé Fantasie. It comes in a classic black and sleek Chanel compact with a big mirror inside. It contains a pinky-orange shade, a pearly white, a metallic green with golden shimmer and a dark brown with orange/gold shimmer. They are all shimmer shades but the shimmer is very fine, we're not talking glitter here. It's very subtle and absolutely daytime friendly.

I find the quality of the shades a bit too varying to really enjoy this quad. The dark brown is definetly the best. It's buttery and very pigmented, and it's easy to work with. The green is also quite good, although I was a bit dissapointed that it applies a little bit grey-looking. The other two are what pulls this down though. The orangy-pink shade is beautiful, but not as pigmented as the two first ones, and the white is just a regular highlight shade, and a little bit chalky as well. It's just not that exciting. I would claim that you don't need this, unless you're absolutely crazy about all of the colours. Although the brown is a great shadow in a beautiful colour, it's far from unique.

Out of all my spring purchases this is easily my least favorite. I really wanted to try the reformulated Les 4 Ombres, but I'm just left with the feeling that it wasn't worth it, although worth is very personal. I rarely shop eyeshadow palettes for this reason, and I did get this slightly for blog reasons, which I now regret. I would return this if I could.

If you want to see me haul this, and the rest of my spring collection purchases you can do that HERE, and make sure you check back to read my reviews of the rest of my new products.

Chanel 643 Désiro

Posted on 19 February 2015

For spring 2015 Chanel released three polishes in their Reverie Parisienne collection. I only picked up one, in the colour Désirio. It is a cream polish in a beautiful dark pink, almost orchid shade. It has microscopic flecs of purple shimmer, that is barely visible to the naked eye. It's not visible on the nail, just in the bottle, so I'm still calling it a cream shade. This is a colour that would look amazing on any skintone, and it will be wearable almost all year, especially for spring and summer. I would say it's muted enough even for work.

I don't have any polishes that are perfect dupes, but I found two to compare it too. The closest shade is 217 Splendeur (which I got 10 years ago), which is a pure cream shade that is slightly lighter and a tiny bit warmer. 619 Pink Tonic from last summer is also very similar, but even lighter and more of a pure pink with microscopic gold shimmer. I also believe 533 April is the closest newer Chanel match, but that one is darker are more muted.

Unfortunately for Chanel, their polishes tend to either be on the great or terrible end of the quality scale. Luckily, this is one of the best ones I've bought in years. It lasts a good four days before chipping on me, but I do work alot with my hands so I consider four days to be a long time. It does also apply very evenly and it's easy to work with. Two coats and it's completly opaque.

Out of all my spring purchases I think this is my favourite. Everything about it is perfect, and I will be wearing this all through spring. Remember to check out my spring collections haul to see what else I got, and keep an eye out right here to read about the rest of my haul.

2015 Spring Collections Haul + First Impressions

Posted on 16 February 2015

We're well into February and I feel like I'm overdue to share my spring purchases. I ended up picking up quite a few bits in January and early February, mostly from the spring collections but also one new release that is permanent. I've got some exciting pieces, so I'm glad I can finally share them with you. Instead of doing just another regular haul video, I decided to make one with first impressions, and also my overall impressions of the collections. I would love some feedback if that's something you like, or hate, so I can do it again in the future. The limited edition jungle can be a nightmare, and I know first hand how easy it can be to shop like a madman ("because it will be gone in a minute!") and having buyers remorse. I'm hoping this video can be a little guide of sorts and help you not waste your money.

Now what sucks a little bit is that these the Chanel collection launched in the US before Christmas even (crazy!) and most items will probably be long gone by now. But alas, this is what I've got to work with and luckily European launchdates are more or less the same.

Be sure to check back later this week, or tomorrow if you want to, and catch my posts on the products. And as always, if you want to subscribe to my channel you can do that HERE.

Get Ready With Me | Wedding Anniversary

Posted on 31 January 2015

It's been almost two weeks since my very first wedding anniversary. It was such a lovely day, and I'm so excited to be able to say that I've been married for over a year! We hade a wonderful evening where we went out to eat (for the first time in ages), and when we came home we opened a bottle of champagne that we got as a wedding gift and watched one of our favorite moveis, Jurassic Park. That's right, I said it. But, on our special day I took some time for you guys as well, and filmed myself getting ready. This is the first time I've made a real get ready with me video (I don't count the one I made at the beginning of you YouTube-career, it was a bit of a dud), and it took ages to edit so I really hope you like it. If you do, let me know and you can expect more in the future. And if you do, I'll definetly get a better microphone.

If you want to see a complete list of products used you can do that HERE, in the downbar under the video, and if you want to see my eyebrow tutorial you can find that HERE.

And as always, if you want to subscribe to my channel just head over HERE.

Another Beauty Haul | Christmas Gifts + Sales

Posted on 28 January 2015

It's time for the first haul of the year, a large, collective beauty haul. I tend to do alot of shopping during the holidays, and I ended up buying even more than usual from the sales. I decided to make this video a little bit more than just sales, so in this video you'll also see the beauty items I got for Christmas, as well as a few bits and bobs I've picked up over the past few weeks. I've got so many exciting products to try out now, and of course you'll be seeing reviews, and hopefully a bunch of them will end up in my monthly favorites as well. But as always, don't hesitate to ask if there's a particular product you want to hear more about. As I mention I'm planning on doing a seperate haul for spring collections and new releases, and that will be next week or the one after that if everything goes according to plan.

That being said, I'm trying to be a good girl and not go too crazy with the shopping. I'm trying to budget, and I also want to focus on buying bigger things that I have wanted for a long time, instead of just throwing it all in the pit of beauty products out there. But don't fear, I will still have tons of things to write about, so don't you worry, there will still be some shopping.

As always, I would love it if you would subscribe to my channel, and you can do that HERE. And for now, I hope you enjoy this video!

ON MY RADAR | NEW IN BEAUTY

January means new beauty launches left and right, and there's so many new things coming out now I'm almost getting dizzy. There's so many fun things hitting the stores, but we can't have it all, so I picked out a few of the things that I'm most excited about. And the best thing is that these aren't limited edition, so you don't have to get stressed out while trying to get your hands on the small quantities.

  • YSL Volupté Tint-in-Oil So far YSL has only had big hits in their Volupté lip-range, and these new lip oils look very promising. They come in eight shades, and they're moisturizing while tinting the lips. Disclaimer, I may have already picked up one of these a few days ago, and I will definetly be getting one more before testing them out for you. Keep an eye out for these on the blog.
  • Dior DiorSkin Nude Air Dior are launching several new powders right now, and I can't wait to try them. Dior really know what they're doing with their face powders, and some of you may know that's my favorite kind of make-up. There's not much information on these yet, and I think they're officially only launched in France (and my French is rusty to say the least), but it looks like there's a loose powder in four shades, a compact powder, a bronzer and also a liquid foundation. Hopefully we will see these in stores other places very soon!
  • Make Up For Ever Skin Equalizer The new generation of primers are suppost to 'prepare the skin for a perfect complexion just like a painter prepares his canvas with a basecoat'. And I'm all about primers. Hopefully these will finally be a good option for those of us that need colour correction all over the face. The green one will be mine.
  • Giorgio Armani Eye Tints Armani call these tints, but let's be honest, aren't they just cream eyeshadows? Or something similar, at the very least. These are going to transform (their word, not mine) from liquid to solid, and thus lasting all day without creasing. That sounds good to me, and in swatches they look gorgeous. Can't wait to see these with my own eyes and have a swatch-a-thon.
  • NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation A new foundation from NARS you say? Well colour me intrigued! The blogosphere has been going crazy over this as of late. It's suppost to have full coverage, but look natural and last for 16 hours. I think we all know we can take that with a grain of salt, but I still want to try it. It seems that NARS can do no wrong in the complexion department.
  • MAC Viva Glam x Miley After years of being a MAC fiend I'm more or less over their constant new collections, but the latest Viva Glam campaign has caught my eye. This year the spokesperson is Miley Cyrus, whom I really don't like, but I'm loving that shade of pink. It's a beautiful shade a little on the warmer side, perfect for those, like me, who like Candy Yum Yum but are a little afraid of wearing neon. And as a big plus, every scent goes to the fight against HIV/AIDS. Now this is somewhat limited edition, but they produce so many hopefully you won't have a problem finding these.

Posted on 25 January 2015

Time really flies and it's Sunday once again. With work, family and life in general I can't say I've had a very relaxing week, but atleast there's a brand new week ahead of us. I'm working today, but never on Mondays, so I always have a nice and quiet start to the week. But since most of you are probably not working today, I hope you find time for a little bit of relaxation before returning to the real world tomorrow. And to do that, why not catch up on the best of blogs and videos from the past two weeks?

I'm honestly not on track with my filming yet, so today my offering is a little tag. My best friend Anna tagged me ages ago (make sure you check her out), and I'm just now doing it. I don't really do a ton of tags, but I thought this one would be a nice little mix-up where you can get to know me a little better. There are ten questions in total, and if you want to hear my answers just watch the video above. Make sure you also check out the other YouTubers I talk about in this video: Trisha Paytas, Rose Keats and Jennifer Ross. I do have plenty of favorites that I didn't mention in the video, just because I could go on forever, but to see a full list of the channels I subscribe to you can just go HERE.

What's in My Bag? | Going Out

Posted on 20 January 2015

It's a brand new week and I'm finally back with a new video. Last week was not my best, which is why I went silent. Not only was my husband stuck on an oil rig, but on Friday I had a minor routine surgery. Don't worry, I am absolutely fine and in a few weeks I'll know if it was successful.

In todays video I'm chatting about my new handbag. I just love what's in my bag videos, so I wanted to do another one, but this one is a going out version. Since there's not really that much in there I decided to talk a little bit about the handbag itself, kind of a first impressions or mini-review if you will. I absolutely adore my little wallet on a chain, and I'm happy it lived up to my expectations after being on my wishlist for over a year. What I forgot to mention in the video is that I love the size, and I think it's perfect for a clutch-type bag. It's bigger than a regular wallet and it will look good on alot of body types. It's not the cheapest of bags, but I think it looks elegant and exclusive, and it's a fraction of the price of a Chanel WOC.

2014 Beauty Favorites

Posted on

Today I want to share the ultimate favorites video, featuring my most favorite products of 2014. These are all products I have discovered, or rediscovered, in the last year, and all of these are holy grail products of mine. Most of these I can not imagine my life without and if I lost them I would repurchase them in a heartbeat. I'm so excited about this video and I hope you find it inspiring. I'm absolutely a product junkie, and this means so much more than just my regular monthly favorites. I'm all ready excited for a new year of favorites, and I wonder what will end up in my 2015 favorites! I think this is going to be a great year, and hopefully I will make some amazing discoveries as well. Be sure you leave me some inspiration as well, and tell me about your favorites from the year that has passed. I'm not going to say much more, I'm just going to let the video litterally speak for itself (too much Parks & Rec).

If you want to be the first to know about my videos, go HERE and subscribe to my channel.

ON MY RADAR | SPRING COLLECTIONS

Posted on 8 January 2015

I know it's not actually spring yet, but I always get a spring feeling once I enter a new year. There's snow and it's windy and miserable outside, but I'm ready for a brighter day. And one of the best things about spring is spring collections. It's one of my favorites (after fall), and everyone has something exciting to offer. It does bug me that a few of these launched in the US before Christmas. I'm all about early, but that's too early even for me. None of these have launched yet in Europe though, and I'm all giddy about swatching and buying. And using, of course. In this, the first 'on my radar' of the year I've collected the products that I'm most excited about.

  • Dior Kingdom of Colors I was honestly pretty dissapointed in Diors new offerings. I like that they have a brand new product (five kohl eyeliners) but as a whole I thougt it was all a bit meh. Their main product is the 'Kingdom of Colors Eye, Lip & Face palette', which is beautiful, but I just hate all in one palettes. I get that they can be practical for some people, but I'm just not one of them. All I can think of is how messy it would look after a while and how annoying it would be when the liner dries out and the lip stick and liner starts to smell wierd. Anywho, one thing obviously caught my eye and it is of course the nail polishes. I love a good limited edition polish, and all of these colours are perfect for spring and there's a funky top coat in there too.
  • Chanel Reverie Parisienne Chanel always knows how to do spring. Year after year they're always my favorite spring collections, and this year is no different. If I had my way I would get everything, but a girl has to compromise with her wallet. It's not a very exciting collection, but it looks good as a whole and has tons of exciting items. I'm a big fan of Chanel polishes, so they're obviously what I'm most excited about, and the light green 'Paradisio' is my favorite of the three. I'm also interested in the two eye shadow palettes and the two Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks. And you have to take notice of the beautiful Jardin de Chanel blush in Camelia Rose, which is the star of the collection. It's absolutely gorgeous but I'll have to swatch this before I make up my mind.
  • Guerlain Les Tendres Aah, good old Guerlain, they know what they're doing. It seems like they can do no wrong in the face powder department. The beautiful Meteorites pressed powder in a beautiful new casing has caught my eye (I'm not sure, but I believe this is the same old powder), as has the very cute Meteorites Perles de Blush.
  • Givenchy COLOreCREATION First off, it pains me to type out the name of this collection, I absolutely hate it. That being said I love how they went neon with their products. I'm kind of intrigued with everything they're launching, but what has really caught my eye are these ultra bright nail polishes. They just look so fun, and I think they will be an awesome way to spice up a simple everyday look.
  • Clarins Garden Escape I never thought I would see the day when I'm intrigued by Clarins, but here we are. The web has been buzzing about these Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils, and so have I. They're suppost to nourish and hydrate with just a hint of colour, and I can't wait to get my hands on them!

Vlogmas Part Five

Posted on 4 January 2015

We're well into the new year and it's really time for vlogmas to come to an end. Now that I'm sitting here I have no idea why it sounded good to publish it this long after New Year's Eve. I'm honestly over the whole thing, and I'm all about embracing 2015 and dreaming of spring. But alas here we are for the last time this holiday season, and in this last part you can come with us on our new year celebration, but there's mostly alot of chatting from me. I have to say I've learnt alot vlogging, and I'll be sure to put it to good use. But in the meantime I hope you enjoy the finale of vlogmas!

Looking back at 2014 + My Goals for 2015

Posted on 2 January 2015

Happy New Year, everyone! I'm starting the year off with a chatty video, and little bit about my 2014, and alot about my thoughts and plans for 2015. I've set myself some goals, just to make my life better and easier, and as always trying to make myself a better person. I want to put more focus on myself this year, and not only catering to my son and husband. I think it's easy for moms out there to always put others first, but we have to remember ourselves as well. It's too easy to just get lost in our busy lives. So this year I want to focus on just being happy, and not just letting the year slip by. Which is also why I want to accomplish something this year, and not letting this year be like any other. Because why not make it special?

In all honesty, the most special thing that I want to happend this year is for us to have another baby. Our family is not complete yet, and I constantly have a longing for a little brother or sister for Edward. But something like that isn't always the easiest to plan, so we'll just have to see. I will of course let you know in due time whenever I have another one on the way.

Well, I suggest you watch the video now, because there's not really a point in me writing everything I've just said in the video. I'm feeling good about 2015 so far, and I've been productive so far. As soon as I notice that I'm procrastinating I try and tell myself 'get it together, Kaja!' and that usually helps. In a year I'll check back in and talk about how it went, etc.

I hope you entered the year in a safe and fun fashion, and that you're also ready for a brand new year. I really do believe that we make our own happiness, so even if you didn't have the best 2014, you can still make this one your best year yet!
